Dungeons & Dragons Classics (Volume 4)
The presence of halflings, elves, dwarves, orcs, dragons and other fantasy creatures makes it possible to compare the world of "D & D" with the works of JRR Tolkien, although Gygax argued that the impact of "The Lord of the Rings" was minimal, and the use of elements from the trilogy - marketing. Story based on the rules republished in 1977 was influenced by the work of such visionaries as Robert Howard, Edgar Burroughs, Michael Moorcock, Roger Zelazny, Poul Anderson, Lyon Sprague de Camp, Abraham Merritt, and others.
"Dungeons & Dragons" was a relief (introductory) version of the game.
"Advanced Dungeons & Dragons" (AD & D) was a more sophisticated version of the game.
